The historic
Central National Bank and Matthew Brady
Studios is a twin-turreted landmark
on Pennsylvania Avenue at 7th
Street, NW. Known locally as the Apex
Liquor Building, this project was
completed to the Secretary of the
Interior's Standards for historic
preservation making it eligible for a
significant historic preservation tax
credit. The project was sold to Sears
Roebuck prior to construction, and was
built to Sears' specifications to serve
as headquarters for its World Trade and
Governmental Relations divisions. Mr.
Beeke was Project Manager for the
renovation of this project, completed in
1984.
